Land Degradation and Conservation Measures: 95 per cent of our basic needs for food, shelter and clothing are obtained from land. Human activities have degraded lands and also increased the pace of damage to lands caused by natural forces.
Land degradation is a significant environmental issue that affects agricultural productivity, water quality, and overall ecosystem health. It is primarily caused by human activities such as deforestation, overgrazing, and industrial expansion, as well as natural factors like erosion and deposition.
